Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Uniquemood GmbH, In der Pünt 6, 8317 Tagelswangen, Switzerland (CHE-433.016.381), who operate Acocite. Using the service means you accept them.

What Acocite is

Acocite is a tool for running the administrative side of freelance work: writing invoices, quotes and contracts, keeping client records, tracking who has paid, and producing a year-end summary. Parts of it are driven by AI.

It is not an accountant, a bookkeeper, or a lawyer. The figures it produces are a summary for you and your accountant, not a tax filing. The contracts it drafts come from common freelance clauses, not legal advice. For anything high value, unusual, or binding, take proper advice. You are responsible for what you send to your clients and what you file with any authority.

Your account

You need an account to use Acocite, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else has access. One account is for one person or business; do not share it.

Acocite is for business use. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not use it to break the law, to send anything abusive or misleading to your clients, or to attack or overload the service.

Your data and your work stay yours

Everything you put into Acocite, and everything it generates for you, belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your invoices, your client list, or your documents. We hold it to run the service, as described in the privacy policy. You can export or delete it, and if you close your account we remove it.

You are responsible for having the right to put your clients' details into the service, and for what you tell it about them.

Credit and payment

The AI in Acocite costs real money to run, so accounts hold a credit balance. Creating, opening, downloading and emailing your documents does not consume credit. Asking the AI to do work does. When credit runs out, the AI pauses and everything you have already made keeps working.

There is also a daily ceiling on each account. It sits well above ordinary use and exists so a fault or a loop cannot empty a balance before anyone notices.

Prices are shown before you buy. We may change them, and if we do we will tell existing customers before it affects them.

Paddle is the merchant of record for everything you buy here. That means Paddle, not us, is the seller on the transaction: they take the payment, they calculate and remit the sales tax or VAT for your country, and they appear on your bank statement and your invoice. Their buyer terms govern the purchase itself and identify the Paddle entity you contract with, alongside these terms which govern your use of Acocite. Refunds are covered in our refund policy.

Email sent through Acocite

You can email documents to your clients from inside the app. Those messages go out from our sending domain with your name and your address as the reply-to. You are responsible for who you send them to and what they say. Do not use it for bulk or unsolicited email; it exists to send a document to a client who is expecting it.

Availability, and what we do not promise

We work to keep Acocite running and will not pretend it will never break. There is no uptime guarantee. We may change features, and we will avoid removing things you depend on without warning. During early access, expect rough edges: that is what it is for.

Acocite is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for anything arising from a decision you took on the basis of what the tool told you. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Keep your own copies of anything that matters. Download your invoices. It is good practice with any service, including this one.

Ending it

You can stop using Acocite and close your account whenever you like. Before you go, download what you want to keep.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm someone, or that is not paying for what it uses. Except where something serious is happening, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right, and a way to get your data out.

Changes to these terms

We will update this page when the terms change and move the date at the bottom. If a change materially affects you, we will tell account holders directly. Carrying on using the service after a change means you accept it.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Switzerland, and disputes go to the courts there. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
